Why Val Thorens?

Val Thorens isn’t just a ski resort—it’s a world-renowned winter wonderland that’s repeatedly been crowned the best ski resort on the planet. And it’s easy to see why! It’s our most popular destination for good reason.

Top of Europe, Top of Its Game

Sitting proudly at 2300m, Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe, guaranteeing fantastic snow conditions from late November right through to late April (and sometimes early May).

Endless Adventures in the 3 Valleys

As part of the 3 Valleys, the largest linked ski area in the world, Val Thorens opens up a playground of 600km of pistes. Whether you’re a beginner learning the ropes (it’s an amazing place to start!) or an expert chasing thrilling descents, there’s something for every skier and snowboarder.

Learn and Improve with the Best

The ESF ski school in Val Thorens is a standout, with friendly, English-speaking instructors ready to teach beginners or help seasoned pros sharpen their skills.

Ski Passes for Every Type of Adventure

Choose between the Val Thorens local ski pass, offering about 150km of pistes—ideal for beginners and intermediates—or go big with the full 3 Valleys ski pass. With the latter, you can explore neighboring resorts like Meribel and Courchevel, adding even more variety to your ski experience.

Fun for Every Group

  • Party Seekers: Val Thorens is legendary for its vibrant après-ski scene, with bars, nightlife, and non-stop energy.
  • Couples: Indulge in romantic dinners at top-notch restaurants.
  • Families: Keep everyone entertained with a wealth of off-slope activities, from bowling and swimming to a fun park, toboggan run, cinema, ice rink, and even snow groomer rides!

No matter who you’re traveling with, Val Thorens has the magic to make your trip unforgettable. It’s not just a ski resort—it’s an experience.
