Les Balcons de Val Thorens

Les Balcons de Val Thorens is one of our personal favourite places to stay in the brilliant resort of Val Thorens. These four-star self-catering apartments are located in the upper levels of the Val Thorens resort - in a peaceful setting providing the perfect place to relax whilst still maintaining proximity to the main resort, which is around a 10-minute downhill walk away.

Les Balcons de Val Thorens is made up of six different chalets, all of which have been built in the traditional alpine style using wood and stone. There are excellent views of the mountains thanks to the location of this accommodation, and there’s a huge number of different apartment options available, with smaller apartments sleeping two guests right up to larger apartments which can sleep up to sixteen. The larger apartments provide incredible levels of value with enough guests, making Les Balcons de Val Thorens massively popular with families and larger groups.

A highlight of this residence is the onsite spa area which has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tubs and fitness room. It's free to use and is the perfect place to relax and recuperate after a long day on the slopes. Treatments such as massages are available for a supplement.

Residence Les Balcons de Val Thorens Popular Dates

Val Thorens has won awards on how family-friendly the complete resort is, so it’s important to remember to book in good time during school holiday times - which is when the resort is at its busiest. As it's the highest resort in Europe snow levels remain good throughout the season so if you can travel in January or March we would recommend this.

Residence Les Balcons de Val Thorens Ski Pass & Hire

At Get me to the Alps, we have worked incredibly hard to build relationships with businesses and organisations across Val Thorens, and we are able to offer excellent discounts and savings on Val Thorens ski passes and ski hire, providing great savings compared to what guests can expect to pay in the resort.

Why Val Thorens?

Val Thorens has been voted as being the best ski resort in the world, many times and that’s no surprise. It's by far the most popular resort that we sell and there's good reason for that.

The resort is the highest in Europe (2300m), meaning excellent snow conditions throughout the ski season from late November to late April/early May.

Val Thorens is part of the largest linked ski area in the world, the 3 Valleys, with access to 600km of pistes to explore - catering for skiers and boarders of all abilities. So whether you are a beginner, (Val Thorens is a great place to learn) or if you are an expert, there is so much for all.

The ESF ski school in Val Thorens is great, with friendly English speaking instructors. It's the perfect place to learn or to hone your skills.

In Val Thorens you have 2 options when it comes to ski passes, the Val Thorens local ski pass which includes approximately 150km of pistes, so plenty for beginners and intermediate level skiers or as mentioned previously the full 3 Valleys ski pass. The full 3 Valleys ski pass allows you to ski over to neighbouring ski resorts Meribel and Courchevel.

Val Thorens itself caters to a wide range of group types, whether you are a couple, a family or a large group there is something for everyone. For groups looking to party, Val Thorens is right up there in terms of aprés ski, bars and nightlife. For couples, there's a wide range of amazing restaurants for a lovely romantic meal. For families, there are many off slope activities to keep the kids entertained for the duration of your stay including a bowling alley, a sports centre with a swimming pool, a fun park (soft play/play park), a toboggan run, a cinema, an ice rink, snow groomer rides etc.
