Chalet de l'Ours

The 5* Chalet Altitude Arc 2000 residence is an excellent option for those looking for a luxurious ski holiday in Arc 2000.

 

The residence is ideally located with the slopes only 100m away, it's a fantastic location to explore all that the vast Paradiski ski area offers. The Paradiski ski area is the 2nd largest linked ski area in the world so there's something for skiers of all abilities.

 

All of the apartments are cosy, luxurious and well equipped. All of the apartments have a wood-burning stone fireplace to make you feel at home in the Alps and to warm your bones after a long day on the slopes.

 

A highlight of this residence is the free access guests have to the onsite "relaxation area", which has an indoor swimming pool, a sensory pool with jets, a sauna, and a fitness room. The relaxtion area is at Chalet Altitude, which is next door, there is direct access through the car park.

All of the Chalet de l'Ours apartments come equipped with fully functional kitchens (with dishwasher, microwave, cooker with oven and ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, toaster, coffee machine), it makes a great choice for those wanting a self catering holiday.

 

This means that you would be able to eat what you want when you want rather than having to have set meal times. This is a fantastic option for families with any fussy kids or for those with food allergies. There are shops nearby in the resort for groceries. The nearest being the mini-market in Chalet Altitude.

 

There is a bakery delivery service available where fresh bread and pastries will be sent directly to your apartment in the morning. This can be arranged at the mini-market.

 

For those that want to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants close by to choose from.

 

Chalet de l'Ours Apartment Sizes

There are a three different apartment types available at the residence.

 

The smallest apartment available sleeps up to six people, with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. The largest apartment they have sleeps up to 12 people with 5 bedrooms and a sofa bed.

Ski School and Ski Hire Shop Location

There is a Skiset hire shop a couple of minutes from the residence and the ESF ski school meeting points are about 5 minutes away.

 

Why Book Arc 2000?

Les Arcs is made up of 4 main villages with Arc 2000 being the highest. Les Arcs is part of the 2nd largest linked ski area in the world, The Paradiski, which has 425km of pistes. Of that 18 runs are green, 129 are blue runs, 77 are red runs and 34 are black runs so there's something for all abilities. Another major plus is that 70% of that is at an altitude above 2000m, which means you can be guaranteed fantastic snow conditions for the duration of the ski season.

 

Arc 2000 itself is a quieter resort that offers an ideal base to explore all the Paradiski ski area has to offer. The accommodation here is excellent value and is so convenient for those just looking to ski, with very easy access to the ski lifts, you can really make the most of a full day's skiing. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, as well as easy access to the resort just below Arc 1950 and the other Les Arcs villages.

Chalet de l'Ours FAQ's

What time can we check in/out at Chalet de l’Ours?

You can check in from 5pm and check out is at 10am. It's always worth going to the reception when you arrive to see whether the apartment is ready. They have a luggage storage room where you can leave your bags.

Will we have to pay anything on arrival?

You will need to pay your tourist tax directly to the residence, this is €3 per person per day (+18). You will also have to pay a refundable damage deposit, this is €500 per apartment. This will be held until your apartment has been checked at the end of your stay. This can be paid by credit card (not American Express) at the reception when you check in. The funds are pre-authorised which means they are not taken off your card, but the amount will not be available to spend.

What are the reception opening times?

The reception is open from 8.30am to 12pm and 4.30pm-8pm (Sunday to Friday) and 8am to 8pm on Saturdays. The reception is at the residence next door, Chalet Altitude.

What is the late arrival process?

If you are going to be arriving after 6pm, you must contact the reception in advance of the day of your arrival to find out the late check in procedure. They will explain how to collect your keys.

Are there ski lockers?

Yes, there are ski lockers designated per room with boot dryers.

Is there somewhere to store luggage?

Yes, there is a luggage room for storing bags.

How many apartments are there at Chalet de l’Ours?

There are 20 cosy apartments that make up the residence.

Can I request a nice view?

Up to 15 days before travel, let us know if you have a preferred view, orientation, floor, building, or distance from reception, so we can inform the residence of your preferences. Subject to availability, we cannot guarantee that requests will be fulfilled but we will always ask for you.

Will toilet roll be provided?

An initial supply will be, after that you will need to purchase them. There is a mini-market close by in Chalet Altitude.

Are there hairdryers and irons?

Yes, there will be a hairdryer in the room. Ask for an iron at the reception.

Will bed linen and towels be provided?

Yes, bed linen is provided and beds are made on arrival. Sofa beds are not made on arrival. Bathroom towels (1 large and 1 small per person) are also provided with one change mid stay.

Will we have to clean our apartment at Chalet de l’Ours?

End of stay cleaning is included except for the kitchen, dishes, the balcony and bins. A cleaning kit (dishcloth and sponge, 2 dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, a bottle of cleaning product) is also provided.

Is there Wi-Fi and is there a cost for this?

Yes, you would have free Wi-Fi access in the apartment.

Is the relaxation area free and what are the opening times?

For guests staying at Chalet de l’Ours, you have free and unlimited access to relaxation area at Chalet Altitude. There is direct access via the indoor car park. The relaxation area includes the indoor heated swimming pool, sensory pool, sauna, and fitness room. It is open from 10am to 8pm every day.

Is this residence suitable for someone who is disabled?

Please contact us in advance of booking and we will advise. There is disabled access in certain room types.

Is there a car park?

Yes, there is a covered car park. This is from €80 per week per car and subject to availability. Please let us know early if you require a car parking space. There is a height restriction of 2.10 meters.

Is this residence good for kids/families?

Yes, children will love the swimming pool.

Can I bring my pets?

Pets are welcome at the residence, they would be €75 per week. Please advise the reception well in advance if you intend to bring your pet.

Is food included, are there any restaurants/shops nearby?

This is a self catering residence and all the apartments come with functional kitchens. There is an mini-market shop for groceries close by. For those wanting to eat out there are plenty of restaurants in the resort. A bakery service is available at the mini-market, you can get bread and pastries delivered to your apartments in the mornings.

Is there a resort shuttle bus and will I need to use it?

There is a shuttle bus that operates between the main villages in Les Arcs if you want to explore those.

Is Chalet de l’Ours ski in / ski out?

The Chalet de l’Ours residence is located 100m from the slopes, so it is a great location. However, it is not ski in, ski out.

Is wood provided for the fireplaces?

One bag of wood is provided, additional bags of wood would be €7.
