Ski Holidays In La Plagne

Made up of 11 separate villages (Plagne Aime 2000, Plagne Villages, Belle Plagne, Plagne Soleil, Plagne Centre, Plagne Bellecote, Plagne 1800, Montalbert, Champagny En Vanoise, Montchavin-Les Coches, La Plagne Vallee), La Plagne is an ideal winter sport holiday destination for families, beginners and intermediates owing to its wide, gentle slopes.

The lower villages are traditional Savoyard hamlets with a quaint alpine charm while those higher up the slopes are purpose built ski resorts interlinked by pistes and a free bus service. The purpose built villages of Belle Plagne and Plagne Centre form the hub of the resort where you will find the majority of shops, restaurants and bars with easy access to many of the pistes. Together with the neighboring resort of Les Arcs, it forms the vast Paradiski ski area.

Skiing In La Plagne

Beginners and families: Renowned as a great place to learn, La Plagne has lots of ski and snowboard schools as well as private English speaking instructors. Look out for beginner areas marked Zone Debutante across the resort. Once you’ve found your feet there are 10 green and 73 blue runs to test your skills.

Intermediates: With a huge range of blue runs, La Plagne is great for intermediate skiers and boarders who head to the Montchavin/Les Coches area.

Advanced: La Plagne is known as being great for beginners and intermediates but there’s plenty to challenge the advanced skier or boarder too. Head for the Bellecôte glacier where you’ll find a few great black runs as well as a mogul field, or try the area above Plagne Aime 2000 at Le Biolley 2350m for more blacks. You can also head to Les Arcs and enjoy the slopes of the whole Paradiski area.

Snowboarding: There are plenty of runs for beginner and intermediate boarders, La Plagne also has a half pipe at Plagne Bellecôte, a boardercross course at Belle Plagne and a large snowpark, the 7 cube. The park is mainly aimed at freestyle skiers but boarders can enjoy the jumps, rails and boxes too.

There are plenty of leisure activities to do during the day and in the evenings including a cinema, bowling alley, forest adventures, zip slides, hiking, huskey sledding, bob sleigh on the Olympic track, overnight igloo stays, ice skating and moonlit skiing.

Transfers to La Plagne

Ben’s Bus offers shared La Plagne Airport Transfers and are almost certainly the cheapest way of getting from the airport to La Plagne.

Alternatively, private transfers are an option, they tend to be more expensive but you get a door to door service and there's no waiting around at the airport. For groups of 8 (which is the sweet spot for minibus transfers) it wouldn't be too different in price to shared.
