La Grange Restaurant Val Thorens
La Grange Restaurant Val Thorens - flexible catering
La Grange is located at the lower end of the resort and offers a variety of catering options, allowing you to stay in a self-catered apartment but still have catering on your ski holiday. The restaurant offers breakfasts, evening meals, or half board (breakfasts and evening meals). You can be flexible on the number of mornings/evenings you take.
La Grange is 50-100m walk from the following accommodations:
Le Cheval Blanc, Village Montana Soliel, Village Montana Premier, Village Montana Valbel, Village Montana Plein Sud, Les Temples du Soleil, Machu Pichu and Le Tikal.
Approximate prices are as follows:
Half board for 7 nights (7 buffet breakfasts and 7 x 3-course evening meals) = £230 for adults, £115 for kids aged 2-11, free for infants.
7 nights evening meals (7 x 3 course evening meals) = £165 for adults, £82.50 for kids aged 2-11, free for infants.
7 x buffet breakfasts = £90 for adults, £60 for kids aged 2-11, free for infants.
This represents extremely good value for a ski resort and there are no nights off like in a catered chalet.
La Grange menu
Breakfast:
Is buffet style (bacon, eggs, cold meat, cheese, cereals, bread & croissants, yoghurt, cold & hot drinks etc). See the video for a full walk-around of what is on offer.
There are hot stones available for you to cook your bacon to your liking and an excellent variety of hot and cold drinks.
Evening meals:
There is a set menu of the day which you can stick to. If you don't fancy that then there is a selection of other dishes to choose from including starters, mains and desserts. This means you have a great deal of choice throughout the week. You can also choose any pizza from their excellent pizza menu! It really is a great half-board menu.
The highlights are the 2 speciality meals that you can have each week. Choose from the classics:
Raclette (our favourite) - Melt your own raclette cheese and pour it all over lovely new potatoes. Accompanied by a plate of cured meats and lovely fresh salad.
Fondue (cheese or meat) - A lovely pot of bubbling cheese into which you dip bread. Alternatively, a pot of oil in which to cook beef cubes to your liking. Accompanied by cured meats and salad.
Pierrade (hot stone) - Your very own hot stone on which to cook beef and chicken. Accompanies by fries and salad and a selection of dipping sauces.
Get me to the Alps Review
The staff at Get me to the Alps have eaten at La Grange many times. The food is fantastic, especially the Raclette! Considering how expensive a main meal is in most restaurants in Val Thorens, the price you pay for 7 nights half board is amazing value. We get great feedback from our customers with plenty of people rebooking to have their meals at La Grange again.
The buffet breakfast has lots to choose from and you can eat as much as you like which really sets you up for a day on the slopes. Combine this with a very filling 3-course evening meal every night and you only need a very light lunch during the day. The speciality meals are a highlight and well worth sampling. Having multiple choices on the side menu is a really nice feature if you don't fancy the menu of the day.
