Spotlight on… Les Terrasses d’Eos

A spotlight on Les Terrasses d’Eos!

Les Terrasses d’Eos in the resort of Flaine represents incredible value for the standard of accommodation. Another of our favourites it’s especially perfect for families and those with beginners in the group.

The accommodation

Les Terrasses d’Eos comprises of 5* self-catered apartments sleeping between 4 and 8 people, available standard, superior or exceptional (for the 8 person option only). If you have more people than this, we can opt for multiple apartments. The accommodation is located in the upper part of Flaine and consists of two stone and wood buildings, providing the perfect mix of contemporary style and traditional Savoyard architecture. The apartments are tastefully decorated with natural wood and soothing colours and are spacious and bright. With floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a balcony, they’re the perfect places to soak in the breath-taking views of the valley and tree-lined mountains. The apartments feature a living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a balcony, a number of bedrooms and a number of bathrooms. Some even have a fireplace to really make them feel homely!

The accommodation also benefits from being ski-in/ski-out, simply pop on your skis and off you go! The centre of resort is just a 10-minute walk away allowing you to enjoy the restaurants and bars on offer. If you don’t fancy walking, take the free shuttle bus that runs around resort and stops directly outside the residence!

Included in your stay you would have free access to the on-site spa facilities including indoor hot tub with a panoramic view of the mountains, sauna, and outdoor heated swimming pool. A great way to relax after a day skiing. There is also a Deep Nature Spa where additional treatments can be booked such as massages and facial treatments.

Your stay would also include WiFi (superior and exceptional include the highest level of WiFi), end of staying cleaning, ski lockers and luggage store. For the children, there is an interactive treasure hunt available within the residence/resort featuring Happyz, the mischievous bee who protects the planet, on his hunt for utensils and ingredients to make a local speciality. There’s also a pool/snooker table within the residence to challenge the family to in the evenings!

A number of parking spaces are available at the residence for €84 per car per week. This needs to be pre-booked.

The catering

This accommodation is available self-catered, although when in resort there is also the option of ordering bread and pastries to your apartment ready for when you wake up. Just speak to the reception the evening before.

Each apartment has a fully functioning kitchen enabling you to cook your own meals each day giving you full flexibility. There is a mini-market located in Les Terrasse d’Helios, the sister property located within the same residence. Each apartment comes with a nespresso machine and 3 capsules. More can be bought in reception.

There is a restaurant within the residence called L’Eterlous which available for evening meals only, but this is an independent restaurant so you would need to book directly with them.

There are a number of delicious resorts in the resort centre if you do fancy eating out a few nights.

The resort

Flaine which sits at 1600m, reaches heights of 2500m and faces the majestic Mont Blanc. Flaine sits within the Grand Massif ski area so you would be linked to neighbouring resorts Les Morillon, Samoëns, Sixt and Les Carroz. Your Grand Massif ski, which is included within our quotes, would give you access to over 265km of pistes!

Flaine is a really popular choice with families for a number of reasons. The nightlife isn’t as “wild” as other resorts, but still has a number of bars and restaurants to entertain the group. Another huge bonus of the resort is its proximity to Geneva airport. The transfer time is only around 1.5 hours, so it’s great when travelling with children, or also with those looking for a shorter stay and maximising skiing time.

Another reason Flaine is popular with families is due to the vast array of beginner and intermediates runs. Flaine is situated in a bowl, mostly north-facing and above the treeline close to 2500m, which means no matter which piste you take, you will always end up at the same place. This makes it easy to meet up with your friends, near impossible to get lost, it’s sociable skiing at its finest! There is also a wide range of off-piste options for those more advanced.

It’s also worth mentioning that there are a number of “fun” areas for the kids with bumps and trees to navigate, take a look at ZiziPanPans Mysterious Forest and the Cool Zone. There’s also a rail toboggan run in Les Carroz, as well as a number of toboggan runs through the ski area.

If you’re looking for a bit of luxury without the luxurious price tag, Les Terrasses d’Eos is definitely the one for you! If you’d like to talk through this accommodation with one of the team or have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
