Daria I Nor Alpe d'Huez
The 5* Daria I Nor Alpe d'Huez residence is a great option for a luxurious ski holiday in Alpe d'Huez. Ideally located close to the slopes and resort centre, it's a fantastic location to explore all that the vast Grand Domaine ski area offers. With around 250km of pistes, there's something for skiers of all abilities including the longest ski run in the world! Alpe d'Huez is famous for being sunny throughout the season and has been dubbed "the sunny island", so top up your tan whilst being surrounded by snow.
All of the apartments at residence Daria I Nor are cosy, luxurious and well equipped. All of the apartments come with a fully equipped kitchen to make your self catering stay as comfortable as possible. Some of the apartments even have a private sauna!
A highlight of this residence is the free access guests have to the onsite "wellness area", which has an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, hammam and a fitness room.
Daria I Nor Alpe d'Huez board basis
As all of the Daria I Nor Alpe d'Huez apartments come equipped with fully functional kitchens (Electric oven, microwave, electric hobs, fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker, toaster, kettle and full range of kitchen wave), it makes a great choice for those wanting a self catering holiday.
This means that you would be able to eat what you want when you want rather than having to have set meal times. This is a fantastic option for families with any fussy kids or for those with food allergies. There are shops nearby in the resort for groceries.
For those that want to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants close by to choose from including the two great restaurants in the Hotel Daria I Nor. Prepaid cards for those can be bought at the reception and there is even the option to stay half board (includes breakfasts and dinners). If you are interested in either the half board or the pre-paid cards please ask us about those.
The residence does offer a bakery delivery service, you would just need to arrange this at the reception the night before. Fresh bread and pastries will be sent directly to your apartment in the morning.

There are a number of different apartment types available at the residence, to suit different group sizes.
The smallest apartment available sleeps two people, with a double bed. The largest apartment they have sleeps up to 10 people and has a private sauna!

Ski School and Ski Hire Shop Location
There is a Skiset hire shop ideally located in the hotel which saves time picking up your skis. The ESF ski school meeting point is a short walk or shuttle bus ride away.

Alpe d'Huez has been dubbed "The sunny island" due to having an incredible amount of sun all year round, giving skiers long days throughout the season. The resort is located in the vast Grand Domaine ski area with around 250km of pistes. There's something for skiers of all abilities including the longest ski run in the world, the Sarenne (16km). Alpe d'Huez won the best ski resort in Europe as recent as 2020.
For the party people, there's great apres-ski and plenty of bars and nightlife.
Unlike many other top French ski resorts, it's only a short transfer (1.5-2 hours) from Grenoble airport.

What time can we check in/out at Daria I Nor Alpe d'Huez?
You can check in from 5pm and check out is at 10am. It's always worth going to the reception when you arrive to see whether the apartment is ready. They have a luggage storage room where you can leave your bags.
Will we have to pay anything on arrival?
You will need to pay your tourist tax directly to the residence, this will be between €3-€4 per person per day (+18). You will also have to pay a refundable damage deposit, this is €500 per apartment. This will be held until your apartment has been checked at the end of your stay. This must be paid by credit card at the reception when you check in. The funds are pre-authorised which means they are not taken off your card, but the amount will not be available to spend.
What is the late arrival process?
If you are going to be arriving after 8pm, you must contact the reception in advance of the day of your arrival to find out the late check in procedure. They will explain how to collect your keys.
Are there ski lockers?
Yes, there are ski lockers with boot dryers designated per room.
Is there somewhere to store luggage?
Yes, there is a luggage room for storing bags.

Can I request a nice view?
Up to 15 days before travel, let us know if you have a preferred view, orientation, floor, building, or distance from reception, so we can inform the residence of your preferences. Subject to availability, we cannot guarantee that requests will be fulfilled but we will always ask for you.
Will toilet roll be provided?
An initial supply will be, after that you will need to purchase them. There are shops nearby for supplies and groceries.
Are there hairdryers and irons?
Yes, there will be a hairdryer in the room. You can ask for an iron at the reception.
Will bed linen and towels be provided?
Yes, bed linen is provided and beds are made on arrival. Bathroom towels (2 per person) are also provided with one change mid-stay.
Will we have to clean our apartment at Daria I Nor Alpe d'Huez?
*End of stay cleaning is included except for the kitchen area. A cleaning kit (dishcloth and sponge, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, a bottle of multi use cleaning product) is also provided.

Is food included, are there any restaurants/shops nearby?
This is a self catering residence and all the apartments come with fully functional kitchens. There are shops nearby for groceries. For those wanting to eat out there are plenty of restaurants in the resort including two great restaurants in the Hotel Daria I Nor. You can add on half board (breakfasts and dinners) or prepaid cards for those can be bought at the reception. A bakery service is available from the reception, you can get bread and pastries delivered to your apartment in the mornings.
Is there a resort shuttle bus and will I need to use it?
The residence offers a shuttle service around resort, ask at the reception about this or there is the free shuttle bus in resort. You may not need to use them however but it’s always an option if you would rather not walk around the resort.
Is Daria I Nor Alpe d'Huez ski in / ski out?
The Daria I Nor Alpe d’Huez residence is not ski in, ski out but there is a ski lift next to the residence, just a short walk away.
